Rhona Trotter is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, CBT therapist and Mindfulness teacher with extensive experience of working in the NHS as therapist, supervisor and clinical lead and additionally as a therapist in private practice. She was instrumental in setting up and leading locally based eating disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) services which later became part of the wider local NHS services. She also helped to set up and led local Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services and introduced Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction courses (MBSR) into local mental health services. After retiring from the NHS in 2017 Rhona now works entirely in her preferred role as a therapist in the private sector. Although she works primarily with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), her clinical psychology background and more than 20 years teaching and practising mindfulness herself allows her to integrate a wide range of therapeutic tools into her practice and to develop individualised treatment programmes in collaboration with her patients. 

Her interests and areas of expertise include the anxiety disorders such as phobias, health anxiety, PTSD, stress management, panic attacks with or without agoraphobia, low self-esteem, procrastination and avoidance, adjustment difficulties/life transitions, sleep difficulties, relationship problems, social anxiety and mild to moderate eating disorders, as well as depression.
